In the vibrant heart of Cairo, within Arkan Plaza, lies Lucida, a restaurant that stands out not only for its culinary offerings but also for its innovative architecture and eco-friendly approach. Designed by architect Shahira Fahmy, Lucida exemplifies how dining can become a fully immersive sensory experience, celebrating Egyptian hospitality and culture.

A Unique Sensory Experience

Lucida is not just a restaurant; it is a journey through light, design, and tradition. The lighting design has been crafted by Atelier33, which has skillfully transformed light into a cultural narrative. Here, light is not merely a functional element but an essential component that enhances the architectural elegance of the space, creating dynamic and engaging atmospheres.

Lighting as Narrative

Among the key players in this lighting project are our fixtures: Macro IP67, Aurora PL, and Tono, which seamlessly integrate into the environment, helping to create welcoming and stimulating spaces.

Macro IP67 is a compact and sleek projector that stands out for its ability to blend into the surrounding architecture. With its comfortable optics and precise aiming, it emphasizes architectural elements without distracting the eye, providing efficient, high-quality light that enhances the environment's readability.
Aurora PL is an elegantly designed, compact fixture characterized by its extremely efficient optics that make light the true protagonist of the space. Aurora easily integrates into any architectural context, representing a versatile and stylistically refined solution.
Tono is a small projector with a 360° adjustable body. It is designed to precisely highlight the smallest details in the presence of general lighting. Its great compactness, available optics, and anti-glare system make Tono perfect for creating a cozy and sophisticated atmosphere.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a central theme in the Lucida project. The materials used, such as terracotta walls and palm leaf structures, not only beautify the environment but are also chosen for their low environmental impact. Every detail is the result of careful collaboration with local artisans, creating a strong bond between the restaurant and the surrounding community.

The lighting at Lucida is designed to evolve with the cycle of the day, transitioning from calm, bright atmospheres in the morning to vibrant energy in the evening. This approach not only enriches the dining experience but invites guests to embark on a unique sensory journey where every meal transforms into a moment of pure joy and connection.
