DGA light for Zuma

In the gardens of the iconic Hôtel Byblos, Zuma Saint-Tropez reinterprets the izakaya experience in an outdoor key, bringing Japanese cuisine to one of the most exclusive settings on the French Riviera. The project was born from the encounter between the lighting concept of Into Lighting, conceived to accompany the spaces with a measured and engaging light, and the interior design by Azumi which interweaves Mediterranean elegance and global craftsmanship with a contemporary language.

In this scenario, DGA luminaires have been selected to translate the concept into concrete solutions: compact, high-performance luminaires, designed to enhance surfaces, materials and volumes without ever imposing themselves, but becoming an integral part of the architecture.

The central curved bamboo bar, the centrepiece of the restaurant's life, is defined by the light from the recessed Gemma 35 IP67 m which highlight the custom-made Japanese ceramics and natural textures with precise, controlled lighting. Behind it, the wall lights Milli IP67 dialogue with the green, creating depth and visual continuity. Beneath the ZUMA interior signage, the Gemma 35 IP67 GS fixtures introduce an elegant and recognisable lighting accent, transforming the area into a visual landmark.

Between plants and pathways, the projectors Micro and Milli IP67 accompany guests discreetly, guiding movements and defining spaces without interfering with the atmosphere. The light follows the rhythm of the three open kitchens - main, sushi and Robata grill - marking the moments of the evening, from the first drink to the sharing of dishes.

The result is a calibrated balance between light and architecture, where each luminaire contributes to building a coherent and refined experience. A project that expresses DGA's ability to combine technology, Made in Italy quality and design sensitivity, giving shape to spaces designed to be experienced, observed and remembered.

An example of how light can define the identity of a place. Discover the DGA solutions that have illuminated Zuma Saint-Tropez and get inspired for your lighting design projects.
