Casa Pellanda

Contemporary light in a historical context

Casa Cavalier Pellanda, a refined 16th-century Renaissance building located in Biasca (Canton Ticino), is an excellent example of the balance between enhancing the historical heritage and introducing contemporary lighting technologies.

The conservative restoration, supervised by Meyer Piattini Architects transformed the residence into a museum and exhibition space, preserving the architectural value and integrating technical solutions in accordance with modern museum standards.
In this highly constrained context, the lighting design by Lucespazio - Michela Bonzi and Jörg Frank Seemann ensured a discreet, precise and modulable light, capable of rapidly adapting to temporary exhibitions and different works on display, while fully respecting the historical surfaces.

Discreet and flexible lighting with Ariel B Micro

For the upper floors, where the original wooden ceilings did not allow for invasive installations, Lucespazio chose luminaires Ariel B Micro mounted on suspended tracks.
 This choice made it possible to

  • provideprecise and calibrated accent lighting;
  • to quickly reconfigure the lighting scenario according to the exhibitions;
  • maintain a minimal, discreet aesthetic that respects the historic building;
  • fully preserving the original architectural surfaces.

The extremely compact dimensions of the Ariel B Micro allow them to be discreetly integrated into the space, letting the light and the works emerge as protagonists.

Ariel B Micro: technical essentiality for museum spaces

Ariel B Micro luminaires combine small dimensions with high lighting performance, ideal for constrained contexts such as Casa Cavalier Pellanda.

Key features:

  • 40 mm diameter, perfect for minimalist installations;
  • interchangeable optics and accessories to shape the light precisely;
  • visual comfort guaranteed by recessed optics and glare control.

A versatile and modular solution, perfect for dynamic museum environments and variable lighting scenes.
