DGA illuminates 'Union - A Journey of Light' in Beirut

The second edition of We Design Beirut (22-26 October 2025) transformed the city into a veritable urban stage, where light, memory and rebirth met. Among the most striking experiences of the event, 'Union - A Journey of Light' stood out for its emotional power and visual impact: theImmeuble de l'Union came alive, becoming the protagonist of a luminous tale celebrating Beirut's resilience.

The installation was designed by Karim Naderwith the lighting design by Atelier 33, which interpreted the historical architecture through modulations of light and shadow, creating a pathway through floors and spaces, enhancing surfaces, volumes and original details.

The public responded with enthusiasm and great participation: the event had a strong media resonance and was appreciated not only for its aesthetics, but also for its ability to evoke deep meanings, making light an authentic language of memory, hope and rebirth.

Built in 1952 by the architects Lucien Cavro and Antoine Tabet, the Immeuble de l'Union is an emblematic example of the spirit of 'golden Beirut', with technological innovations at the forefront for the time, such as an underground car park with a car wash, German lifts, telephone booths and heating systems imported from the United States.

In this context, DGA is happy and proud to have contributed to the installation, supplying the luminaires Harmony, Tone e Milliwho supported the design vision without compromising its poetics, enhancing the spaces and making the experience immersive and engaging.

This installation goes beyond a simple aesthetic intervention: it is a narrative act, a bridge between past and future, and a tangible sign of Beirut's cultural renaissance, where design, light and culture meet.
