The journey of light takes on a new form

The journey of light takes on a new form

Designed by Calvi Brambilla and Partners, the new DGA stand made its debut at ARCHITECT@WORK inLausanne. Now the journey continues to Berlin, Paris and Milan.

It arrives at the trade fair like a travel case. It opens, lights up and reveals its contents: luminaires, finishes and lighting to explore.

The new DGA stand is designed to move from one city to another. Calvi Brambilla and Partners have translated this idea into a corrugated aluminium structure that houses a display system inspired by the world of lockers and vending machines. A container with a distinctive character, which, when opened, becomes a space dedicated to discovering the products.

The light fittings switch on and cast light onto the surfaces, highlighting their textures. The drawers invite you to take a closer look at their dimensions, details and finishes. Your exploration thus moves from the effect of the light to the fitting that produces it.

This journey also offers the opportunity for change. The dynamic and reversible layout allows the stand to be reconfigured to suit the products and requirements of different trade fairs. Whilst the layout changes, the stand’s identity remains recognisable at every stage.

The first stop was Lausanne, on 30 September and 1 October, where DGA presented its new installation, sharing a stand with DS Lighting, its local partner.

At the end of the event, the case closes, ready to set off again. In the next city, it will open up and light up once more, showcasing DGA’s lighting through a new configuration.
