International trade fairs, an award and new projects from Giza to Mykonos

Six months of intense activity for DGA, including international trade fairs, industry accolades and projects spanning different continents. From its first appearance at LEDucation in New York to the new Paris office, here are the key milestones of the first half of 2026.

In May, Brucoli, in the province of Syracuse, hosted the [d]arc sessions: not a traditional trade fair, but a series of targeted meetings with lighting designers, architects and interior designers involved in major international projects.

Also in May, DGA was present in Madrid for Architect@Work, at IFEMA, showcasing its miniaturised products and the latest innovations designed for the retail, hospitality, residential and museum sectors.

The half-year drew to a close in Paris with participation in Enlighten Europe – IALD, the leading European event for lighting designers: three days of discussion on the use of light in contemporary architecture.

Luna wins the iF Design Award 2026

Among the most significant achievements of the half-year, the Luna product wonthe iF Design Award 2026 in the Product Design – Lighting category. Developed in collaboration with Draw Studio, Luna combines a minimalist form, microprismatic glass and sustainable finishes.

Projects from the half-year: from Giza to Mykonos

The first half of 2026 saw DGA involved in projects across the globe, in contexts that varied greatly in terms of scale, materials and atmosphere.

In Giza, Egypt, just a stone’s throw from the pyramids, the project for the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) called for lighting capable of telling the story without distracting the eye from it.

In Dubai, two distinct projects put different approaches to the test. For the 377-metre-tall Ciel Dubai Marina, lighting was designed to follow the verticality of the structure. For the Sexy Fish, featuring sculptures by Damien Hirst and directed by 18Fifty, the lighting creates the atmosphere whilst remaining in the background.

In Mykonos, Greece, the Cali Mykonos project called for a dialogue between stone, marble and the Aegean landscape: lighting designed to blend into the surroundings without dominating them.

DGA Paris moves to new premises

On 4 June, DGA opened its new French showroom at 44–46 Rue du Cherche-Midi, in the heart of the Rive Gauche. The space has a special connection with the company’s history: years ago, DGA designed the lighting for ‘La Cerise sur le Chapeau’, the artisan hat shop that used to occupy those very premises. The original shelving and central unit have been retained, creating a dialogue between the shop’s historic features and the contemporary lighting fixtures.
